The large work was part of the decoration of the Trinxet House that Joaquim Mir had made for his uncle. It is a large format landscape with intense chromatic force. In this piece, which dates from Mir's sojourn on Mallorca, the painter depicts a view of the caves of Majorca. The intense colour overpowers the shapes because there is no reference to the landscape.
